Learn to swim
We believe in the importance of all children learning to swim in an environment that is friendly, enjoyable and safe. We work at each individual childs pace and follow the ASA’s National plan.
Learn to swim
We work at each individual child’s pace, offering encouragement along the way so that each child becomes confident, both in their own abilities and being in and around water. Following the ASA’s National Plan for teaching.
In stage 1 we have helpers in the water, often from our competition squad, who will assist the children in armbands to build their confidence and ensure their safety. Children will never be rushed through the stages, and will only be moved up to the next level once we feel they are confident and competent, so parents can be confident in the knowledge that their children are being taught, not only to be safe in the water, but how to swim the strokes correctly too.
Once children have reached level 5 they can then move into our junior development section of the club, where they will continue to build on their swimming skills.
Sessions
Each session runs for half an hour and in addition to a qualified teacher on poolside, the Stage 1 sessions benefit from an ‘in pool’ helper. This relationship allows the children to develop their technique and gain confidence while having fun.
