Development
This is the next step for children who have gained their level 5 ASA award. The aim is to give children the skills to enable them to become competent swimmers.
Development Squad
Within the development squad, children aim to complete stage 6 and 7. These sessions are in half hour slots swimming lengths at the Lime Kiln Leisure Centre in Wootton Bassett. Our pupil/teacher ratio is 8:1.
All of our swimmers are able to participate in the Annual Club Championships throughout November, which give the children a great opportunity to show parents and fellow swimmers how they have developed during the year in a fun and social event.
Progression
After Stage 7, swimmers can progress to being part of our Competition B squad where they will learn the necessary skills to develop their stroke technique, stamina, starts, turns and dives. They will then have the opportunity to use these skills in competitions. Or for those who don’t want to compete they have the option of still being part of this squad without the competitive element.
